We have years of experience helping our customers choose carpet colours and designs. We will ask you for some information to help us get started and then you can relax with the knowledge that we will work with you to find your perfect carpet and colour combinations.

1. Are you choosing a carpet for a typical room or a hallway and staircase?

   Stair carpets can be more challenging to design, especially when stair winders and landings need to be considered. If you are planning a new carpet for a hall and staircase, please call us on 0113 225 9535 to discuss your requirements. 2. What is the style of your room decor?

   We are confident we will find the perfect carpet for your chosen decor from our huge range of carpets. We can match contemporary, classic, traditional and even themed decor styles. We will work with you to ensure the carpet design fits beautifully within your chosen decor. Photos of your room would be ideal to help us understand the style of room you are planning. Please attach your photos to an email and send to us at sales@stonegatecarpets.co.uk or alternatively use the link at the footer of the page to easily open a WhatsApp chat where you can easily send images.

3. What style of carpet would you like?

   We will ask if you are looking for a plain or patterned carpet. We can even design a carpet that combines both. Would a carpet with a plain centre panel and a patterned border or vice versa give your room that unique feature you have been looking for? 4. Can you send us a sample piece of your chosen wallpaper or a paint swatch?

   To help us get started, we will need to know the colour scheme you have chosen. Sending us some photos as mentioned in point 2 above would be helpful but the photos may not be a true representation of the colours in the room. By sending us a sample of your wallpaper or the paint colours on a piece of lining paper, we can be confident that we have chosen the best colours to compliment or contrast with your colour scheme. If you can't send a swatch of the paint colours, please tell us the brand and colour name of the paint.

5. We will send you some carpet samples for you to consider.

   Once we have as much information as possible, we can send you up to four carpet samples for you to consider (small postage cost per sample). Should you wish to discuss the carpet samples or need any further information, we are here to help on 0113 225 9535. You can be assured that the carpet samples will be from leading manufacturers, such as Brintons, and are woven carpets constructed from 80% Wool and 20% Nylon. Woven carpets out perform cheaper, hessian backed carpets.

Stair Carpet & Stair Runner Design Service

Are you looking for a bespoke, unique stair carpet or stair runner? Then why not be creative and design your own with our FREE stair carpet and stair runner design service?

We can take the stress out of finding the perfect stair carpet or runner along with any additional room areas where you are planning to fit a carpet. Stair runners can be created by combining two or three carpets from either the same range or from different ranges. We prefer to use carpets made by Brintons as they are manufactured to the highest standards and are suitable for heavy domestic use, ensuring your stair carpet will look good for many years to come.

When advising or designing a carpet for your stairs, we need the same information from you as mentioned above in our colour matching service but we need some additional information that is relevant to your stairs:

1. What is the design and construction of your staircase?

   Stairs with winders and landings are always more challenging than a straight staircase. We will need a brief description regarding the construction and style of your staircase. For example, does your stairs have winders, or a quarter or half landing? Is it a spiral staircase? Click here for help identifying the construction of your staircase.

2. Send us some photos of your stairs.

   If we can see some photos of your stairs, it will help us to ensure the carpet designs we propose will be suitable for the construction of your stairs. There are some limitations when considering a carpet for stairs with winders so if you are planning a carpet or runner for stairs with winders, please call us on 0113 225 9535 to discuss your requirements. 3. Would you like a fully fitted stair carpet or a stair runner?

   We can advise you on choosing either a fully fitted stair carpet or a stair runner. We can even create a fully fitted stair carpet that looks like a stair runner, with contrasting or complimentary carpet running along the edge of the carpet. 4. Extras to consider when choosing a stair runner.

   A stair runner will leave some of the steps visible at each side of the carpet. To ensure a professional finish, the edges of the carpet runner will need to be sealed to stop the carpet from fraying and we offer a choice of edging options.
